Ok, so I've not posted anything for a while for the simple reason that not a lot has happened. We are still waiting for our planning permission to come through and in the meantime I have taken the opportunity to decorate our hallway and landing in our house whilst Marta was away travelling with her friend. So now we have a nice new hallway, but I know you're not that interested in that.
I did do some work on the garage yesterday however, and finished sanding the reclaimed pallet planks:

I'm very pleased with the finish I think they will eventually achieve. And it is nice to know that every single plank on the exterior has been individually reclaimed, de-nailed and sanded with my own bare hands (well, with some tools). And this is just the most recent moments in the life of this wood - created by God and matured through decades of growth, each one has its own unique history evident in the beautiful patterns and textures it displays. Have I convinced you all to use real wood more yet?
Without much else to say, I thought I'd share a few images that are inspiring our thoughts for the interior, and we will continue to collect ideas in the next few months:

Hopefully news soon on the planning permission, but in the meantime we will be looking at getting prices for different things, such as brickwork and windows/doors. One question we have is does anybody have a good bricklayer in the Loughborough area that they can recommend?! Please let us know in the comments below! :)
That's all for now - watch this space.
